What happens if a truly magical story that should be finished never gets completed? Alice is sixteen and loves to write stories and read them aloud to her younger brother Midge. All her stories are different, but they have something in common: each one must certainly have an end. Alice knows that if she doesn't come up with an ending, something terrible will happen. One day, while working on a big novel, Alice disappears and a talking cat appears in her place. And Midge, who loves riddles so much, must now find the key to the mystery of her sister's disappearance on the pages of her unfinished book.
